1. Internal examinations can be performed at any time, except during menstruation, which should be avoided. 1. Or, wait at least 5 days after your menstrual period has ended. However, if you experience abnormal bleeding, you can have the examination immediately. In such cases, it's even better as it allows the doctor to diagnose the cause of the abnormal bleeding.
2. For those with abnormal vaginal discharge, it is not recommended to use suppositories before a pelvic examination, as this may cause the medication to remain in the vagina, making the examination impossible.
3. You can eat and drink normally before a pelvic examination. There is no need to fast like with a regular physical examination, as it will not affect the examination.
4. You should empty your bladder completely before the pelvic examination so the doctor can clearly examine the size of the uterus and fallopian tubes.
5. Refrain from sexual intercourse for at least 24-48 hours before a pelvic examination, as it may affect the examination.
