The examination data is translated into images on a monitor showing the shape and size of the heart, the function of the heart muscle and valves (including any abnormalities), the contraction and relaxation of the heart muscle, the size of the heart chambers, blood flow in the heart, and the location of blood vessels entering and exiting the heart.

Suitable for:
- Individuals experiencing shortness of breath, easy fatigue, difficulty breathing, or swelling.
Note: Echocardiograms only view the heart's structure; they do not visualize the coronary arteries and may be less clear in obese individuals because fat can obstruct the high-frequency waves.

Preparation:
- No prior preparation is required. Fasting (no need to abstain from food or drink) is not necessary. However, if you are taking any regular medications, please inform your doctor or nurse beforehand.
