1. Internal examinations can be performed at any time, except during menstruation, which should be avoided, or at least 5 days after menstruation has ended. However, if there is abnormal bleeding, the examination can be performed immediately, and it is even better as it allows the doctor to diagnose the cause of the abnormal bleeding.
2. For those with abnormal vaginal discharge, it is not recommended to insert suppositories to treat it before an internal examination, as the medication may remain in the vagina, making the examination impossible.
3. You can eat and drink normally before an internal examination; there is no need to fast like with a general physical examination, as it will not affect the internal examination.
4. You should urinate completely before the internal examination so that the doctor can clearly examine the size of the uterus and fallopian tubes.
5. Refrain from sexual intercourse for at least 24-48 hours before an internal examination, as it may affect the examination.
