About This Service

Liver cancer is one of the leading cancer threats worldwide and has been a major concern for many years. It is more common in men (it is the number one cancer among Thai men) and often occurs in those with cirrhosis of the liver from various causes such as alcohol consumption, hepatitis B or C viruses, and fatty liver disease. In its early stages, it often presents with no symptoms, leading to delayed diagnosis. Importantly, it develops silently and without warning. Liver cancer screening therefore helps us recognize the body's warning signs before seeking timely treatment.
Who should get a liver cancer screening?
- Patients with cirrhosis
- Patients infected with hepatitis B and C viruses
- Patients with a direct family history of liver cancer
- Patients with fatty liver disease
- Patients who regularly consume alcohol
List of tests:
1. Total Protein: Checks total protein levels in the blood
2. Albumin: Checks liver function
3. Total Bilirubin: Checks liver function
4. Direct Bilirubin: Checks liver function
5. SGOT (AST): Checks liver function
6. SGPT (ALT): Checks liver function
7. Alk Phosphatase: Checks liver function
8. GGT (Gamma GT): Checks liver function
9. HBsAg: Detects hepatitis B virus
10. Anti ABs (HBsAb): Detects hepatitis B virus antibodies
11. Anti ABc (HBcAb): Detects hepatitis C virus antibodies
12. Anti HAV IgG (HAVAb): Detects hepatitis A virus antibodies
13. Anti-HCV (HCVAb) test: detects hepatitis C virus antibodies.
14. AFP (Alpha fetoprotein): a marker for liver cancer.
15. Fibroscan: measures liver stiffness.
16. US. Upper Abdomen: examines upper abdominal organs.
