About This Service

A skin prick test is performed on the inner lower arm for children aged 2 years and older to detect respiratory allergies or hay fever.
This type of allergy involves the nose, which is part of the respiratory system that filters dust and foreign particles and regulates body temperature before they enter the trachea. The nasal cavities and nasal mucosa become inflamed when exposed to allergens for prolonged periods.
Symptoms of hay fever include: nasal congestion, runny nose (with clear mucus), frequent sneezing, nasal itching, and postnasal drip, but no fever. There may also be itchy eyes, and symptoms are often chronic, worsening and more frequent in winter. The peak times for symptoms are often morning and night. Complications such as sinusitis and snoring may also occur.

Food allergies are an abnormal reaction of the body's immune system to certain foods, causing allergic reactions.
