Lasik is a surgical method to permanently correct refractive errors, whether nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, using a method of separating layers of the cornea. Influenza is caused by a virus that can cause illnesses, from moderate to life-threatening. It is a virus that is transmitted through the respiratory tract, through the nose, throat, and lungs. Therefore, we must find a way to prevent it by vaccinating against 3-4 strains of the influenza virus.
The influenza vaccination will help boost immunity to influenza that may be present in that season, making those vaccinated less at risk of complications. Most are injected into the upper arm muscles. But in infants and young children, it is injected into the thigh muscle. The subcutaneous injection can be done in people aged 18-64 years. For children under 8 years old, 2 injections should be given in the first year, spaced 1 month apart.
